Supersonic Transfers

What is Supersonic?​

Normally, moving tokens from Base back to Ethereum takes 7 days due to security requirements. Supersonic is SkyBridge's solution to make these transfers much faster—allowing users to withdraw funds as soon as the block is proposed to Ethereum, reducing the waiting time from seven days to about 30-60 minutes. Users can select which withdrawal method they prefer to use whenever withdrawing their assets. Each method requires a different number of transactions and amount of time to complete:

  • Standard withdrawal: 3 transactions required—up to 7 days
  • Supersonic withdrawal: 2 transactions required—up to 60 minutes

How It Works​

Supersonic uses a special pool of tokens on Ethereum to make fast transfers possible. Here's the process:

  1. When you request a transfer, Supersonic checks if there are enough tokens in the pool
  2. If available, you get your tokens quickly from this pool
  3. Your original tokens arrive in the pool after the standard seven-day period
  4. The pool stays balanced and ready for the next user

Key Features​

Speed and Convenience​

  • Transfers are around 200 times faster than standard withdrawals
  • Only two transactions are needed (instead of three for standard transfers)
  • Option to send tokens to a different address

Cost and Availability​

The system is funded through a small fee structure:

  • 0.3% fee on regular token deposits helps maintain the pool
  • AVI token transfers have no percentage fee
  • More tokens become available as the pool grows

Important Notes​

Order Matters​

If you have multiple Supersonic transfers pending:

  • You must claim them in the order you created them
  • Trying to claim them out of order will fail
  • Failed claims will still cost gas fees
  • Your tokens remain safe even if claims fail

Supersonic Queue

Availability​

  • Supersonic is always available for AVI tokens
  • Other tokens need sufficient liquidity in the pool
  • If liquidity isn't available, you'll automatically use the standard 7-day transfer
  • Future updates will let users provide liquidity for rewards
